The Department of Assamese was established in the year 1971. The Department offers bachalor of arts( Honours& Regular) and Master of Arts in Assamese as Bachelor of Science Programme in UG level .In addition, We offer Higher Secondary (Arts and Science ) course .At Present the Department has five Permanent qualified and experienced faculty members ,one qualified Contractual faculty member and one temporary member.
The Department follows the syllabus set by the affiliating University,i.e ,Gauhati University.it follows the semester choice based credit system (Programme Wise) for evaluation.
